History Of Eagle View Angus Stud

The Eagle View Angus Stud is located on the property “Yoothamurra” at Nullo Mountain east of Rylstone, NSW. This high country property is at an altitude of 1100 meters and surrounded by the Wollemi National Park with views into the Widden Valley and across the upper Hunter Valley.

The herd is run across 3,000 acres of basalt soil country with generally high rainfall but with severe winter conditions. All cattle are worked with horses and dogs and a major feature of the stud and commercial herd is the temperament of all stock.

A yearly AI program commences in early October with calving from mid Winter. The only supplementary feed is hay, with no top up grain being given to the stud bulls. The result of this minimal supplementary feeding regime produces durable bulls that will grow out well in more favourable conditions.

Eagle View Stud is a member of the Hunter Valley, Mudgee and Mid West Angus Breeders Associations.

Since the commencement of the stud operation, most of our bulls have been sold to local cattlemen with many of the sales being repeat business. In recent years bulls have also been purchased by producers with large lines of females on the road and who require high fertility, well balanced bulls with structural integrity that can sustain the rigors of long distance grazing.
